         Applications from Indian Nationals are invited for admission to Ph.D. Programme, in the following disciplines for the session 2006-07. The number of seats under different disciplines are given below :

i)	Agronomy - 2		vi)	Genetics and Plant Breeding - 1
ii)	Agril. Econimics - 2		vii)	Plantation Crops & Processing - 2
iii)	Agril. Entomology - 2		viii)	Pomology and Post Harvest Technology - 1
iv)	Plant Pathology - 1		ix)	Vegetable & Spice Crops - 1
v)	Soil Science & Agril. Chemistry - 1		x)	Forestry - 2

Essential qualifications :

a)	Consistently good academic records with Master's Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture having at least 7.5 OGPA from any recognized Indian/Foreign University.
b)	Experience of Dissertation in University/Institute for at least one year.
Interest Research Associates under different Projects that are being implemented at the University may apply in prescribed forms.

         Candidates are to apply in prescribed forms obtainable from office of the Registrar (Admission Section) either personally in any working day or by sending a self addressed stamped envelop (Rs. 20.00; size - 10" x 5") on payment of Rs. 150.00 (one hundred and fifty only) as non refundable application fees in the form of demand draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of "UTTAR BANGA KRISHI VISWAVIDYALAYA" payable at Cooch Behar, West Bengal. Closing date for distribution and submission of Application Forms is 15.12.2006.

The forms complete in all respects are to reach Registrar's office by 15.12.2006. Date of publication of merit list at the Office Notice Board is 20.12.2006. Click for Merit List here.

Date of counseling followed by admission is 22.12.2006. The candidates shall have to appear before 1.00 p.m. on the date of counseling.

Classes will commence on and from 26.12.2006.

The University reserves the right not to admit any candidate if so decided by Admission Committee.
